Warpower: Canada

Regional Defence Review 2026

The WARPOWER series of sites take a unique, 'by-the-numbers', quick-reference approach to the current (2026) military capabilities of Canada. The Canadian military is largely considered a modern, mobile fighting force and is a TOP 30 global defense power. The country has a beneficial defense relationship with the United States and Euro defense players with shared interests. The nation has a viable and mature Military-Industrial base allowing for local production efforts to satisfy equally-local material requirements.

The fighting forces of Canada are collectively managed under the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) banner and encompasses three major branches of service: the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF), the Canadian Army (CA), and the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN). In its modern form, the service was established on February 1st, 1968 (58 years ago) and is headquartered out of Ottowa, Ontario.

Canada national defense is made up of a collection of air, land, and sea assets that includes a Western-aligned and organized approach to its warfighting capabilities, these covering offensive-minded and general deterrence solutions by way of a select group of battlefield offerings.
